What's Coming Up

Total Solar Eclipse – April 20th 2023 approximately 11.27am. The path of totality will graze the tip of Western Australia in a 40 kilometre wide track along the Gascoyne coastline, making it the most accessible land based place on Earth to view the spectacle.

For Adelaide viewers the maximum eclipse will occur at 1:30pm and will only be a partial eclipse.


Major Planet’s visibility this month:

      • Venus – Best viewing is before sunset, setting from 9:20pm in the West South West
      • Mars – Best viewing most of the night towards the North, rising from 7:45pm in the East North East
      • Saturn – Best viewing is after sunset, rising from 10:30am in the East North East, setting 12:05am in the West South West
      • Jupiter – Currently visible from after sunset, rising from 1:40pm in the North, setting 1:45am in the West
