The new Lithium Phosphate (LiFePO4) battery chemistry has significant advantages over other battery chemistries, great for for those Astronomers on the go.
One of the most important factors in a telescope is its transmission—the percentage of light that reaches the focal plane. Our proprietary StarBright XLT optical coatings dramatically increase transmission, up to 97.4% on our Schmidt corrector lenses.
Celestron’s aplanatic EdgeHD optics revolutionized astroimaging. This award-winning optical system reduces visual defects like field curvature and coma, creating an ultra-flat field for pinpoint stars all the way to the edge of today’s largest imaging sensors.

We support the Adelaide Planetarium
Based at UniSA’s Mawson Lakes campus, just 16km from Adelaide CBD, the Planetarium offers a unique opportunity to stargaze without having to brave the elements.
Journey across the universe and marvel at projections of the sun, moon, planets and about 5,000 stars on the Planetarium’s iconic dome-shaped artificial night sky, without leaving the comfort of your seat.
Be careful not to lose yourself as the projections simulate the Earth’s rotation and send you on a voyage through outer space.
No matter your age, the planetarium is an amazing experience for everybody.
Check out this useful light pollution map which will give you an idea just how clear the night sky is where you are.
A community of like-minded astronomers.
The Astronomical Society of South Australia is the only representative body for amateur astronomy in the state of South Australia. Founded in 1892 and with around 700 members, it is the oldest and one of the largest organisations of its kind in Australia.
They offer public viewing nights, meetings and Information sessions to their community of members.
Arkaroola is an inspiring destination for artists, aviators, astronomers, adventure bikers, birdwatchers, bushwalkers, four wheel drive adventurers.
We run three fully equipped astronomical observatories, two located well above the Village area and one conveniently located virtually at our reception area. All of our Observatories are designed and operated to ensure an unforgettable “Stargazing” experience.
